All incoming campers should check in at the park visitor center during the 4 p.m. - 5 p.m. office hours. Late arrivals should contact the park in advance for more information.

Pets are allowed in most outdoor areas provided they are kept under physical restraint or on a leash not longer than six feet. Owners will be asked to remove noisy or dangerous pets or pets that threaten or harass wildlife. Pets are not allowed in or around lodging facilities.

Unique Features

  • Significant Features: The Edisto River, the longest free-flowing blackwater stream in North America, flows through the park. The park also includes three artesian wells that can be accessed by the public.

  • Wildlife: Wildlife such as white-tailed deer, beaver, various reptiles and birds of prey can be found on the park.

  • Wildflowers: Wildflowers that can be seen on the park include pitcher plants.
