Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site

Quite possibly one of the most historic places in the state, Charles Towne Landing not only provides an intriguing historical setting, it also features very beautiful, romantic scenery. Romantic settings are available overlooking the Ashley River and Old Towne Creek as well as along the oak-lined walking paths and trails through historic gardens.

The Legare-Waring Mansion, located on the grounds of Charles Towne Landing, is available for weddings or receptions. A noted scholar of Spanish culture and art, Archer Huntington modeled the couple’s winter home in the style of the Moorish architecture of the Spanish Mediterranean coast. Stroll the grounds and soak in the history of this unique place with the one you love.

Jones Gap State Park

Lake Greenwood State Recreation Area
