The swimming area is open to the public for the 2026 season!

Wi-Fi is now available at the park! Visitors can access it at the park office and the day-use beach area. It is not available in the campgrounds.

$3 adults; $1.50 SC seniors; $1 children age 6-15; age 5 & younger free

PETS

Pets are allowed in most outdoor areas provided they are kept under physical restraint or on a leash not longer than six feet. Owners will be asked to remove noisy or dangerous pets or pets that threaten or harass wildlife.

Welcome! My name is Brad Lane, and I serve as the Park Manager at Calhoun Falls State Park.

My journey with South Carolina State Parks started the summer before my senior year at Clemson University, when I took a job at Little Pee Dee State Park. It didn't take long for me to realize I had found something I truly enjoyed. The outdoors, the people, the wildlife, and the sense of community that parks create made a lasting impression on me.

I joined the park service full-time in 2006 and have been grateful ever since to work in a profession that allows me to share these special places with others.

When people ask about my favorite spot in the park, I always recommend Shelter #2 in the day-use area. It offers one of the best views of Lake Russell, especially in the evening when the sun begins to set and the lake becomes quiet and peaceful.

For first-time visitors, my advice is simple: spend some time by the water. Enjoy the scenery, cast a fishing line, share a meal with family or friends, and take in the experience. Some of the best memories are made in moments like these.

Calhoun Falls State Park sits along several pine-covered points extending out into sparsely-developed Lake Russell. The Calhoun Falls campground is one of the most coveted in the park system, with spacious RV and tent sites complete with forested, shoreline views of the lake.

Day-use activities include a short, easy nature trail, tennis court, seasonal swimming and fishing. The park also attracts various events year round, including fishing tournaments and the popular South Carolina Campground Cookoff.
