The Wild Side
Take a special behind-the-scenes tour of Charles Towne Landing’s Animal Forest to see how our zookeepers care for the animals. Your experience will start at the aviary where the shorebirds will celebrate your birthday by devouring their daily treat – fish! It’s as good as cake and ice cream to them! Your next stop will be the bison habitat, home to the heavyweights of the Animal Forest and the largest land animal of North America. After the bison area, you will visit the zoo’s kitchen where you will get to see what the animals eat. Best of all, you will get to help make enrichment items that keep our animals busy and healthy. Your program will conclude after you give the animals their “presents”!
Due to the close proximity of animals and zoo food during portions of this program, we require you to have a minimum of 1 adult for every 3 children.
- Group size - 40 maximum, including adults
- Appropriate for ages 3 and up
- 1-hour program
Please schedule your birthday party at least one week in advance. Charles Towne Landing does not provide any food or drink as part your party package. You are welcome to bring these items into the park, but not into the zoo. Your picnic area is reserved from 9am-5pm. Charles Towne Landing is a trash-free park. We will supply your group with trash bags, but you are required to remove your trash from the site. For the safety of our animals and for wildlife, helium balloons are not allowed in the park.
