PLEASE BE ADVISED:  Per the WMA regulations listed below from SCDNR, anyone using H. Cooper Black property outside of the campground, during hunting season, must wear blaze orange.  Please read below for more information. We appreciate your cooperation.


7.1 -- On WMA lands during any gun and muzzleloader hunting season for deer, bear and hogs, all hunters, including small game hunters, must wear either a hat, coat, or vest of solid visible international orange. Archery hunters during archery only deer seasons and hunters for dove, turkey, ducks, geese and other migratory birds (including crows) are exempt from this requirement while hunting for those species.

50-11-365 – All users except hunters for dove, ducks, geese, and other migratory birds including crows must wear a hat, coat, or vest of solid international orange during any deer hunting season.

  • Our park and facilities are often rented for special events. Please check our calendar of events and contact the park before you plan your visit.
  • Complimentary wi-fi is available at the community building at the park.
  • Fishing: Yes
  • Picnic Area and Shelters: There is one picnic shelter available at the Wood Duck Pond.

  • Wireless Internet Access: Complimentary Wi-Fi is available at H. Cooper Black.

  • Other Facilities and Activities: Fishing is available to the public in the three park ponds, when they are not reserved for other events. Please check with the park prior to your arrival to ensure no events are being held.

    Hunting is available at the park during season. Deer, turkey and other small game may be hunted if there are no events being held at the park. Quail hunting is not permitted at any time. Please check with the park prior to your arrival to ensure no events are being held.

    Three ponds and two fields are available to rent for retriever training and events. To rent, you must contact the park.

  • Equestrian Camping: The park has 27 campsites available for equestrian camping.
  • Equestrian Stable: The equestrian stable includes 24 stalls.
  • Equestrian Trails: There are more than 20 miles of equestrian trails with sand roads for riders.
