Beach Access at Huntington Beach

FISHING

  • Fishing Information : Surf fishing and fishing from the jetty are popular pastimes for guests. A valid S.C. fishing license is required.

BOATING

  • Boating and Boat Access : To access the inlet, a boat ramp is located one mile from the park entrance at Oyster Landing.

OTHER AMENITIES AND ACTIVITIES

  • Wireless Internet Access : Complimentary wi-fi is available for park guests at the park store.

  • Park Store/Gift Shop : The park store/gift shop is open year-round and offers limited grocery items, souvenirs, snacks crabbing nets and firewood.

  • Picnic Shelters : Yes
  • Swimming Area with Lifeguard : Lifeguards are posted during the summer months at a designated spot at South Beach.

  • Swimming : Swimming is allowed in the Atlantic Ocean at other areas at your own risk.

  • Bird Watching : The park is known as one of the best birding sites in the Southeast. A wide variety of birds can be seen at various locations throughout the park, year round. Visit the Nature Center for more information.

  • Geocaching : Geocaching is permitted. Several geocaches are located on the park. For more information visit the official geocaching website.

TRAILS

  • Hiking Trails : The two mile Sandpiper Pond Trail is ideal for hiking.

  • Interpretive Trails : The 1/4-mile Kerrigan Trail and numerous boardwalks extend out into the saltmarsh and freshwater lagoon for exceptional wildlife viewing.
