Administrative Assistant Tabatha Mosley

Park Service Profiles

The Face of Oconee State Park

Tabatha Mosley doesn't hesitate when she describes being a part of the SC State Park family as a rewarding work environment.

Born in Easley, South Carolina, Tabatha moved to Lake Jocassee when she was five years old and hasn't left since. She’s a proud wife of 19 years, mother of one child and grandmother to a precious ten-month-old grandson. Tabatha began her State Parks career in housekeeping at Devils Fork State Park when it first opened.

"I've always loved the parks and people, so I would say the Park Service had my heart since starting at Devils Fork," Tabatha said.

Tabatha enjoyed working in the parks so much that she jumped at the chance to apply for an administrative assistant job opening at Oconee State Park, a position she has held since 2006. Mosley says she is proud to be a part of S.C. State Parks and encourages others to pursue a career in the field.

If you ever visit Oconee State Park, chances are you will meet Tabatha. Her responsibilities include taking reservations, checking in guests and running the retail store on-site.

"I'm probably one of the first and last faces you see at Oconee," Tabatha said.

Of all the faces she encounters on a daily basis, Tabatha finds interacting with children to be the most satisfying part of her job.

"I find it most rewarding to chat with children and to hear about all their adventures," she said.
