Experience the holidays as they were celebrated throughout the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries with candlelight tours of Redcliffe Plantation as well as historic houses in Augusta, GA including the Boyhood Home of Woodrow Wilson, the Lucy-Craft Laney Museum of Black History, Meadow Garden and the 1797 Ezekiel Harris House. Explore the holidays at Redcliffe Plantation from the perspective of the enslaved women, men, and children that were owned by the Hammond family. Participants will be guided through the slave quarters and hear stories about 19th century Christmas rituals. Five categories are presented that highlight important aspects of the holiday season for Hammond's slaves: food, Redcliffe Plantation State Historic Site
