Things to Do

Fishing Information: Enjoy fishing in Lake Murray for several species of bass including largemouth and stripers, catfish, bream, crappie and yellow perch.
A valid South Carolina fishing license is required.

There are two shelters available for fishing tournament use on the park. If you are interested in reserving these shelters or holding a fishing tournament at the park please contact the park directly.

Boating and Boat Access: Three boat ramps provides private boat access to Lake Murray.
In-boat Refueling: Yes

Picnic Area and Shelters: Thirteen picnic shelters are available for family or other group gatherings. Each shelter may be reserved for $30-38/day.

If shelters are not reserved, guests may use shelters on a first-come, first-served basis at no charge.

Park Store/Gift Shop: The park store is open daily during peak seasons and a limited number of days during the off season. The store includes limited grocery items, fishing and camping supplies, ice, firewood, sandwiches, bait, snacks and in-boat refueling. If you have any questions concerning park store hours of operation, please contact the park directly.

Hiking Trails: From picnic area #2, guests can enjoy a relaxing walk along the ¼-mile Billy Dreher Nature Trail.

From picnic area #4 guests can experience a moderate 2.1 mile hike along the Little Gap Trail. In addition to these two hiking trails a .33 mile multi-use trail exits through the middle of State Park Loop. This trail is designated for bike and foot traffic only.
