Join the Interpretive Ranger on a hike to Mountain Lake and beyond, up and over the mountain, as we travel the entire Sulphur Springs Trail. We will look for early spring wildflowers, and other signs of the awakening forest on this moderate to strenuous 3.5 mile, 3 1/2 hour hike. Meet at Sulphur Springs trailhead, at the top of the park road. Program fee is $8. per person. Admission fee is waived. Registration is required. April is the peak for woodland floral attractions. This trail walk will display a variety of wildflowers and other plants that can be found in the mountains. Discover what blooms in our forested habitats during the spring season.

Table Rock is a designated Important Bird Area in South Carolina and a variety of birds can be seen and heard among wooded, weedy, and wetland habitats. During this morning walk common and uncommon species will be identified by means of prominent field marks, vocalizations, and other behaviors.

Spring wildflowers bring vibrant colors for people to enjoy. To butterflies, hummingbirds and other animals, they bring a source of food after a long winter and an opportunity for plants to reproduce. Join us on a one-mile walk and view trilliums, bloodroot, foamflowers and the vibrant colors of spring. Wear comfortable shoes.

Celebrate International Migratory Bird Day in the mountains of South Carolina. Each year approximately 340 species of birds migrate to and from North America. Come learn more about the mysteries of migration and increase your birding skills. Bring binoculars and wear comfortable walking shoes. Designed for ages 13 and older.

Practice your observation skills as we hike easy to moderate Mountain Creek Trail 3 miles up and back, 'reading stories told by the woods. The interpretive ranger will point out interesting landmarks on the way- it is up to you to find these on the way back. The fee for the program is $8.00. Many of Paris Mountain's animals are adapted to life in or near water. Help look for salamanders, frogs, ducks, aquatic insects, as well as signs of our resident beaver population, on this unusual scavenger hunt. Bring shoes that can get wet, so you can get in the creek! The program fee is $5.00 per person. Admission fee is waived. Registration required. Anytone with enthusiasm and curiosity for the natural world can become an amateur naturalist. The Interpretive Ranger will present tools, tips, and hand-outs to encourage the pursuit of natural wonder. On a short walk down the Turtle Trail, participants will practice some of these skills, and bring back some finds to look at under microscopes in the park lab (all finds go back to where we find them).
