Keowee-Toxaway State Natural Area

FISHING

  • Fishing Information: A half-mile trail provides access to Lake Keowee where guests enjoy fishing for bass, bream, crappie and catfish. A valid South Carolina fishing license is required.

BOATING

  • Boating and Boat Access: Boat access to Lake Keowee is five miles from the park.

THINGS TO DO

  • Picnic Area and Shelters: Five picnic shelters are available for family or other group gatherings. Each shelter may be reserved for $20-25/day. The shelters accommodate 24 to 36 people, depending on the shelter reserved.

    If shelters are not reserved, guests may use on a first-come, first-served basis at no charge.

    Note: Admission fee is not included in shelter price. Rates listed do not include applicable tax and nonrefundable transaction fee.

EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

  • Education Center: The park museum includes displays on the history and culture of the Cherokee Indians and the story of their relationship with European settlers of South Carolina.

    The center also includes limited souvenir items.

    Hours of operation: Daily from 11 a.m. to noon & 4 to 5 p.m.
