Winter Bald Eagle Survey

Join park rangers on a slow boat cruise around the perimeter of beautiful Lake Jocassee in hopes of spotting majestic bald eagles. January is nesting season for bald eagles. We could see eagles engaged in nest building or improvements, already sitting on eggs, or even feeding forays. Lake Jocassee is a protected wilderness area and home to some of the state's most impressive wildlife including black bears and bald eagles, so who knows what we might see. Experience seeing our nation's symbol of freedom in the stunning backdrop of the Jocassee Gorges region! This program is designed for adults (16 and older). Cold weather is expected and participants will be on a pontoon boat for extended time periods. Plan appropriately.
