Be an extra early riser and take a unique moonlit hike to Bald Knob overlook on Pinnacle Trail. After experiencing the nocturnal aspects of the forest we will enjoy the pre-dawn sky from the outcrop as we anticipate the beauty of a new sunrise. This hike is recommended for ages 12 and up, and we will be walking in dark and low light conditions on moderately strenuous trails. Sturdy, closed toed hiking shoes or hiking boots are required, and each participant must have their own headlamp. Each participant must bring at least 3 liters of water and your own food or snacks. Please dress in layers and bring a blanket to sit on at the top of the mountain. If the weather forecast calls for rain during the duration of the hike we will cancel the hike and attempt to reschedule. Space is limited to 20 participants, and online registration is required. Instructions will be sent to each registered participant about arriving to the park. Participants will need to be at the park at 2:45 AM and the hike is expected to take 3.5 hours one way. BYOT (bring your own thermos) - there is no coffee shop at the top!
