Irmo Okra Strut Festival

7507 Eastview DR Irmo Community Park
Irmo, SC 29063

The Okra Strut had its humble beginnings as a fundraiser by the Lake Murray - Irmo Women’s Club to raise money for a new library. Today, it is the largest and longest running celebration of okra in the United States. The festival kicks off on Friday night with a street dance featuring The Atlanta Rhythm Section. Saturday's festivities begin with the Okra Strut Parade at 9a.m. (South Carolina's largest parade!). Other activities include musical entertainment, carnival rides, an okra eating contest, arts & crafts vendors, children's activities and festival food. Free parking and shuttle service available. Locations TBA on our festival website at Irmo is conveniently located only 12-miles outside of Columbia, right off of I-26 at exit 102A. Make your plans to join the fun!
