Grounds are free. House tours and grounds tours are $10 for adults; $6 for SC Seniors; $5 for children ages 6-15; children age 5 and under are free.

Things To Do

  • House Tours: The only way to access the inside of the historic house is to be on a guided tour. Admission for tours is $10 for adults, $5 for children (6-15 years), and $6 for SC seniors. Tours of the historic house are offered Thursday - Monday at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. Access to the mansion is only available on a guided tour. Ground tours are available upon request. Special programs and events can be found on the programs and events page.
  • Park Store/Gift Shop:  A museum store is located in the brick kitchen behind the mansion. Books, historical reproductions, and other items related to plantation or regional history are available for purchase.
  • Picnic Area & Shelters:  The picnic area may be reserved for a fee by calling toll-free 1-866-345-PARK or by visiting the reservation website. If the picnic area is not reserved, visitors may use it on a first-come, first-served basis at no charge.
  • Bird Watching:  Various birds can be seen around the grounds and on the trails. Guides for common and notable bird species are available for purchase in the museum store.
  • Geocaching:  Geocaching is permitted.  One geocache is located within the park. For more information visit the official geocaching website.
  • Hiking Trails:  There are two hiking trails that can be accessed from Rose Hill.
  • Other Facilities & Activities:  Visitors can walk the grounds to view the historic gardens, witness trees, and several historic structures, including a brick kitchen and caretaker’s house. Within driving distance of the park is the Gist family cemetery, located one-mile southwest of the mansion. The park also offers special programs and events.
