Things To Do

  • Fishing Information: Enjoy fishing in Lake Hartwell for several species of bass, bream, crappie, catfish and trout. A valid SC or GA fishing license is required.

  • Fishing Pier: A 100 ft. fishing pier is available for guests and extends into a deep water cove.

  • Tackle Loaner Program: This park participates in the Tackle Loaner Program sponsored by the SC Dept. of Natural Resources. Rods and reels are available for loan at the park office.

  • Boating and Boat Access: Two boat ramps provides private boat access to Lake Hartwell.

  • Playground: The park has two sets of playground equipment for guests to use. One playground is located by the Pavilion. The other is located outside of campground loop #2.

  • Swimming: Swimming is permitted in Lake Hartwell at your own risk. There is no designated swimming area and no lifeguards are on duty.

  • Bird Watching: Birdwatching is available at the park.

  • Geocaching: Geocaching is permitted. Several geocaches are located on the park. For more information visit the official geocaching website.

  • Birding: Yes
  • Hiking Trails: The Pine Grove Trail is an easy ½-mile walking trail.

  • Biking Trails: The loop bike trail is approximately 6 miles long.
