Cypress Forest in Lake Marion


  • Significant Features : Many sinkholes are located throughout the park. The sinkholes are a naturally-occurring phenomenon caused when the limestone underneath the surface erodes away and the ground opens up.

    The cypress forest located in the middle of the lake have been there since the lake was built. These cypress trees have flourished in the middle of the lake and are a distinguishing feature of the park.

  • Wildlife : Unique animals you may encounter include alligators, the fox squirrel and the land-locked striped bass while at the park.
