Carrick Creek Overlook
There's a new viewing platform at the Carrick Creek overlook at Table Rock State Park, thanks to all of your who checked off for state parks on your 2008 tax return. The $43,000 donated in 2008 was set aside specifically for this project and it all came to fruition in April 2010 -- just in time for the spring and summer season.

Not only does the platform offer access and a viewing area for visitors to Carrick Creek Falls, it also protects a very sensitive riparian area around the falls that had suffered from severe erosion and compaction over the years. It’s a double bonus for one of the most viewed waterfalls and most hiked trails in the state park system.
The check off for parks program just completed its 2009 tax season campaign, and a new project will be identified to fund once all donations have been tallied. Taxpayers can designate any amount from $1 up to be used directly for state park improvements. “Check Off for State Parks” funds are not used for daily operations.
Thank you for your support of this program and we look forward to bringing you many more worthwhile projects funded by check off in the future.
