Landsford Canal State Park
is home to the world’s largest population of Rocky Shoals Spider Lilies. These beautiful
flowers bloom each year along the Catawba River and can be viewed from the park from May through mid-June. A 1.5-mile, round trip hike down the Canal Trail takes you to an overlook where the spider lilies can be best viewed.

May 7, 2015 - Lily Watch Update
As of May 5, we have a few blooms starting out in the middle of the colony. These will build in numbers throughout the month of May. We believe the peak should be around the third week of May. We will continue to keep you all updated until they reach full peak!
April 30, 2015 - Lily Watch Update
Our lilies have been under high water for about two weeks and do not have blooms yet. Due to the consistent rainy days from several weeks ago in the North Carolina mountains and Piedmont, the Catawba River has been extremely high. We hope the next several days of warm weather will get them started. Once we get our first blooms we should have a better idea when peak bloom will start. Stay tuned!
Hours of operation: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., daily.
